Just do it!

A plea to all of you - please turn off the word verification. My eyes are going crossed trying to type in those blurry numbers and letters!  And it is in your own best interests - I know lots of people just don't bother to comment if you have word verification on.

This is how you get rid of word verification stuff on Blogger.

Just go to your dashboard and click Settings.  And then from the drop down menu that appears Posts and Comments.

Scroll down to the question "Show word verification?" and click no.

That will sort it. But you do have to click the orange save settings button at the top right.

PS  If you think I have been wittering on about this before - you are so right!  If only Blogger would change the default option!

  2. I agree! I hate the word verification, and after about the 10th time of not getting it right, I usually abandon my comment.

I'd love for you to link up at Wordless Wednesday!

  3. Hi Carole! I don't like the word verification either. It hasn't stopped me from commenting, but it is a pain. My trick has been to look at the "word" quickly and type what I first think I see. It's worked out pretty good for me lol.

Thanks for linking up for WW!

  6. Great post! I know it's so hard for me to comment a lot of times and really takes up a lot of valuable time when you are commenting on a lot of blogs. They make it impossible sometimes to even read the word verification.

  7. I'm glad you shared this--I have had several bloggers tell me it took 4-5 tries to leave a comment on my site because of the Captcha-I got rid of it as well and it is much easer now! Newest follower from the Thumping blog hop--would love it if you could visit and follow back. Thanks! http://Menopausalmother.blogspot.com

  8. Carole, I prefer comment moderation over word verification. What I don't get is when a blog has BOTH! Please put the word out on THAT one!

  14. Word verification used to be much easier than it is now. I stopped using it on my blog some months ago; it just got too hard to read. However, when you run into one that's hard to read, you can click the circular arrow thingy and reload it until you see one that is readable. Sometimes you have to click a few times.
